ORDINANCE 09-08 COLA Cap Bank (Introduction 27 April 2009. Approved 5-1, Mr. Brunton dissenting, 11 May 2009. Reason for Mr. Brunton's "NO" vote: Not passing this ordinance will impose a small amount of fiscal discipline on the borough. Considering the 18.5% jump in local property taxes last year, Council sorely needs such discipline. Also, with the current state of the economy, an increased tax burden is not a wise thing to impose on already strained resident finances.)
ORDINANCE 09-09 Bond Ordinance for Capital Improvements (Introduction 27 April 2009. Approved 6-0 11 May 2009. Mr. Brunton reluctantly supported this ordinance, as repairs to the covered streets must be done. However, Mr. Brunton advocates setting aside funds in the Capital budget each year for such work. The borough should not have to borrow money to fund street maintenance.)

Ordinance 09-14 Salaries & Wages Ordinance (Introduced by a vote of 4-0-2 8 June 2009, Mr. Perno & Brennan abstaining. Adopted 13 July 2009, vote of 3-3, with Mayor breaking tie. Dissenting were Mr. Perno, Mr. Brennan and Mr. Brunton. Reason for Mr. Brunton's No vote: The 3% general wage increase is unsupportable given the current economy. Also, at least one position is unnecessary and can be eliminated. Other positions should be examined for possible elimination.)

Ordinance 09-18 NEW VERSION Revised Ordinance Amending 09-09 (Introduced 9 November 2009. Adopted 14 December 2009, vote of 4-1, With Mr. Brunton dissenting. Reason for Mr. Brunton's NO vote: As several residents pointed out, spending $400,000 on the Bike Path is a colossal waste of money. Public Works is in dire need of money to purchase new equipment in order to assure that essential services are provided.)
