Meeting opened 7:30 - Mr. Perno absent (arrived late, as Public Comments section started)

Resolution 10-60 - Read budget by title only - Passed 5-0.

Public Hearing on Budget:

     Mr.. Alex Woshenkko - Discussed aspects of the budget on Sheets 11 & 10a. Discussed section G. Also discussed Utility Operating Surplus.

Ordinance 10-06 - NJEIT Funding

Public had no comments. Ordinance passed 5-0

Public Comments: (Note: Mr. Perno arrived at this point)

     Ms. Marge Disch - Said that the Car Show wants to close Chestut at 8:00 am instead of the previous 9:00 am. She asked that Chestnut not be closed until 9:00 am.

     Ms. Regina Widener asked to have a block garage sale from Hamilton to Poplar on Woodbine. on Saturday June 12. Approved 6-0.

     Mr. Mike Ray and Kevin Greeney - Running the car show. They asked that Chestnut be closed at 8:00 am on the day of the show. There was discussion which included Marge Disch.

Minutes: Council meeting minutes from 4-26-10 were approved 5-0-1.

Council meeting minutes from 5-10-10 were approved 5-0-1, Mr. Brunton abstaining because he was not in attendance at that meeting.

Old Business: None

New Business:

     Ordinance 10-04B (adjusting Community Center fees for residents) was introduced on a vote of 6-0.

On consent agenda:

     Resolution 10-61 Budget anendment needed due to levy cap calculation adjustments.

     Resolution 10-63

     Passed 6-0.

     After discussion, Council approved Clestnut Street closing at 8:00 am for the car show.

After discussion, Council approved use of the Gazebo, Morrissey Park, the PNC Parking Lot and the set-up of a temporary stage for the Car Show, 6-0.

Announcements:

1. The Garden CLub sent in a letter praising Bob Alfred for his help.

2. Birthday celebration will run from 10:00 - 3:00.

3. DVRPC has asked Merchantville to host a Classic Towns visit.

4. Council meetings will only be held once per month starting in June.

Resolution 10-62 Resolution for Private Session passed 6-0. Tax issues were discussed with the assessor.

 In public session, I moved to accept the tax assessor's recommendations. Motion carried 6-0.
