Meeting opened 7:30 - Mr. Perno absent.

 

Public Comments on Ordinance 10-02 & 10-03:

     Ms. Gail Ford on O10-02 - Talked about meetings that happen at Community Center. Concern expressed about size of meeting fees.

     Ms. Jeri Tabaco (sp?), president of the Merchantville Women's Club, on O10-02 - They are very concerned about the new Community Center fees. They believe the Junior Women's Club will not be able to meet there anymore.

     Mr. Tom Evaul on O10-02 -Suggested there is too much grey area in the fees structure for the Community Center.

 

Ordinance 10-02 was adopted, excepting the Community Center fees, by a vote of 5-0.

 

Ordinance 10-03 was adopted by a vote of 5-0.

 

Public Comments:

     Mr. Henry Kabel discussed problems with snow removal on Crump Lane.

     Mr. Tom Evaul asked about Chestnut Station Townhomes - did the borough get it's $1500 for each townhome sold? Frank North answered yes..

      Mr. Andy Brittan said he received a letter about development of the west end. He said there is a lot of ambiguity in it. It leaves him uncomfortable, and the answers being provided by the borough do not add up right.

 

Engineer's Report - A proposal for W. Maple redevelopment will be submitted this week.

 

The 1/11/09 Minutes were approved 5-1.

 

Correspondence: A letter from Tim Higgins indicate that Allstate is the low bidder on the sewer relining.

 

Council members provided reports.

     Highlights:

        March 27 will be the Easter Egg hunt at the Community Center.

        Court in January received $15,609.93. 255 cases were added; 331 were dispositioned.

        Niagara Fire Company - 19 Calls in January, plus 3 mutual aid calls.

        Richard Grazia, a new officer, was hired by the police department.
